Focus for the week: Give Up Unrealistic, Pressure-Filled Expectations
This week you will learn…
How to let yourself be IMPERFECT, and let “good enough” be OKAY…how to stop overpromising your time, money and energy away to everyone (including yourself!!).
Two of our biggest super power tools for re-setting your expectations so that they support and inspire you, rather than exhaust you and make you feel like crap about yourself.
To give yourself permission to chill out…stop creating situations that create undue stress for yourself…stop biting off more than you can chew and START giving yourself a BREAK.
How to set expectations that support you, and give you more energy, time and money…instead of deplete you and make you feel like you’re not doing enough.
That when you send your Inner-Perfectionist and Achievement Junkie on vacation, and begin to let go of those expectations that are totally unrealistic, unsustainable and unnecessary to the average woman, the stress will start to melt, you will feel more empowered and at peace with yourself and your commitments.
These next 7 days are about you becoming keenly aware of when you are setting yourself up or driving yourself to an expectation, standard or goal that is going to create undue stress and pressure.
The great thing about re-wiring this toxic habit of setting unrealistic expectations is that you can begin to notice how needing or obsessing about perfection is robbing you from what you really want most for yourself. The moment you turn the volume down of your perfectionist or over achieving critic, is the moment you’ll begin to realize and be empowered to only commit to doing what feels aligned with you and your capacity.
Woot! This week marks the half-way point of the Inner Mean Girl 40-Day Cleanse. Time to celebrate that you’ve come this far! Truly, it takes a lot of commitment and love for yourself to keep with the Cleanse. Often times our Inner Mean Girls will throw out some nasty tricks when they feel threatened. So continue blocking out their voices as much as possible and REALLY cranking up the volume of your Inner Wisdom. You CAN do it!!

2. Start and do your daily practice for this week:
DAILY PRACTICE: GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK…GO FOR THE GOOD ENOUGH
Morning Practice: Love start your day with compassion and permission
Use this Love Mantra to infuse the feeling of ENOUGHNESS
Each day before you get out of bed, close your eyes, hand on heart and say this Love Mantra to yourself, like a best friend would. One of the reasons you drive yourself so hard or set up ridiculous goals or try to make everything perfect, is you are trying to cover up feelings of scarcity, lack, unworthiness, and fear. This Mantra, when said every morning, try for at least a minute or until you can FEEL it in your body, will instill a feeling that starts your day from ENOUGHNESS, and that will help you throughout the day.
Your Love Mantra for the next 7 days:
“YOU ARE DOING THE BEST THAT YOU CAN, AND IT’S ENOUGH.”
Commit these words to memory or write them down on a piece of paper or in your journal and keep them near your bed.

Daytime Practice: OverPromise. UnderDeliver & Go for the “C”
1. UNDERPROMISE & OVERDELIVER: In the moment when your Inner Mean Girl is about to over promise something to your boss, partner, kids, friends, parents, peers, or YOU ... STOP! And change the channel to your Inner Wisdom. Make your response an 'under promise' that allows you to deliver, with grace and ease.
2. GO FOR THE "C". Give 80% instead of 100%. Whether it's your house, a project, a party, or some other task you've taken up, let yourself REVEL in imperfection (remember perfection is unattainable!). Give yourself permission to just do good enough. Put in 80% of the energy that you would normally. And notice how the world responds. Does anyone except you really notice that other 20%?
Evening Practice: Reflect on your day with your Inner Wisdom – take a Stress Inventory
Before going to sleep, look back at all the ways in which you gave energy to other people, to projects, to your work, all the things you did, and the choices you made. Where did you GIVE TOO MUCH? EXPECT TOO MUCH? DO MORE THAN WAS REALLY NEEDED? Notice and feel how this created stress for you? Looking back, ask your Inner Wisdom, ‘How could I have done less and still had a positive impact and outcome?’
